About
Looking for an electrifying adventure? The SPARK Museum of Electrical Invention is the perfect spot for a shockingingly good time. This unique museum brings the history of electricity to life with interactive exhibits and demonstrations.
You can see hundreds of artifacts spanning four centuries of electrical innovation. From early static electricity machines to vintage radios, there’s something to spark (get it?) everyone’s interest. The museum’s collection includes original items from pioneers like Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla.
On weekends, don’t miss the MegaZapper Electrical Show, where you can witness lightning-like arcs from one of the largest Tesla coils in the country. If you’re feeling brave, you can even step inside the “Cage of Doom” to experience it up close.
Some of the coolest items include:
• Early light bulbs • Vintage radios • Telegraph machines • X-ray tubes
You can explore how electricity changed the world. The exhibits show the rapid progress of technology over time. Your kids may roll your eyes a few times as you say “I remember having one of those!” But don’t worry, there are some awesome interactive areas for kids to explore. This museum was always my favorite field trip to chaperone, because well, I geek out on all the vintage audio stuff and the kids were always engaged by the activities.
The museum is located downtown so you can explore the rest of town or grab a bite to eat while leaving your car parked.
