Why listen to me?
I grew up in B.C., have lived in Washington a lot of my adult life, and have visited Oregon more times (at least 25 and counting) than any other state, province, or country. I love exploring this area I call home.
What is the Cascadia Region?
Cascadia is a beautiful region in the Pacific Northwest of North America. It covers parts of British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, and Northern California.
The name “Cascadia” comes from the Cascade Range, which runs through the area. Cascadia is full of amazing natural wonders, like the rugged coastlines, dense forests, and towering mountains.
You might spot some wild animals like grizzly bears, cougars, and bald eagles while you’re there. The region has a rich history, with indigenous peoples living in the area for thousands of years before Europeans arrived.
Today, Cascadia is a popular spot for outdoor enthusiasts who love to hike, camp, ski, and more.
Hi, I’m Renae
I grew up in the suburbs of Vancouver B.C. As a family, we did a lot of local road trips because my parents hated flying.
In my late teens and into my 20’s, my friends and I made a lot of road trips and weekend getaways along the west coast because it was all we could afford.
In my mid-20’s I moved to Bellingham, WA. I have lived in this area nearly ever since (I went back to Vancouver for a couple years in the early 2000’s).
In my adult years, my family and I have continued to take driving vacations both because of cost, but also in this area, the journey can sometimes be as amazing as the destination.
Since I was a kid, Oregon has been the number one destination I keep returning too. I am in love with the Oregon Coast, but also Portland, the Willamette Valley, and Southwestern Oregon.
I am a multi-passionate and love to write, travel, and make music. You can also catch me cooking, baking, making soap, sniffing essential oils, drinking cold brew, reading, and whatever else captures my attention.
